♯ Tips! ♫
Here are some tips if you are just learning, or have been playing. ☺
- Before starting, warm up your fingers. You can play through the twelve major scales; C, G major, D major, A major, E major, B major, F♯ major, C♯ major, F major, B♭ major, E♭ major, A♭ major, and D♭ major. Arpeggios are also a good warmup to do, along with sight reading easy and harder piano pieces.
- If you're working on a song, and it's too difficult for you, work on a few measures at a time.A measure is the space that the notes are written in.
Example~
- Know the notes you play. Try to memorize the sound of the note,s, so you can feel the melody and play it correctly.
- You can choose to use a metronome. It helps you keep the beat and rhythm in your music.
- Practice your song slowly, then speed it up as you go. Practicing it slowly will help you hear the notes and make sure they sound correct when you play them at the correct speed.
- Try to keep your eyes focused on your music. It will help you with your hand positions, memorization of the note, and key.
- Listen to the song your playing. If you hear what it's suppose to sound like, you're more apt to get it right.
- Practice, practice, practice. Practice more than once a day. It helps your memory and allows you breaks throughout the day. You also don't need to practice every day. Just don't go more than three days without practice, or you'll forget the song.
- Make sure the bench or chair you are sitting in is comfy. You don't want somethi8ng too uncomfortable that will distract you from playing.
- Make sure you practice in a well lit area. You don't want to strain your eyes by trying to read the music.
- Persevere. Always keep trying and don't give up. Take breaks then try again.
